Apex (Salt in Japanese) is a fictional character from Zoids: Wild. He is the fourth member of Team Freedom outside of Arashi.

Overview

Zoids Wild

Apex arrives relatively late in the series. He met Quade in the past.

In episode 40 it is revealed that he was accidentally abandoned by his father, Sugar, while escaping from a Raptor as a child. He was raised by the Alpha Shadow instead.

Personality

Apex is inexperienced at many things, but is very honest. He is also extremely competitive, with no sense of direction. When he is fixated on something, he does it to the best of his ability without any question of the consequences.

Ability as a Zoid pilot

Apex is a very skilled Zoid pilot, he is shown to be able to use his Wild Blast upon introduction, and also using his "Second Gear" ability. The combined speed of the Wolf, with capacity to perform an area-of-effect attack makes him one of the most potent members of team Freedom.

Relationships

Apex has his own unique relationships with the following characters:

Arashi: Arashi and Apex get along well, despite starting as rivals.

Quade: Apex is shown to have met Bacon in parallel to Arashi, and holds deep respect for him.

Bastion: Bastion and Apex always argue, Bastion was wary of Apex when they first met, but he slowly accepted him as part of the team.

Analog: Analog accepted Apex as part of the team. Apex is fond of his cooking and commented that he should eat more to get stronger to his chagrin.

Trivia

Like most characters in Zoids Wild, Apex's Japanese name Salt, is based on food.
In the Japanese version his catchphrase is "Ciao".
