The Flyscissors (フライシザース Furaishizāzu), also spelled as Fly Scissors, is a Chimera-type Zoid from the fictional Zoids universe. One of over 200 species of biomechanical life forms that provide the basis for TOMY’s model kit, anime, and comic-based Zoids franchise.

Overview[]

Flyscissors is an unmanned Chimera Blox with the features of a stag beetle and a Pteranodon. It is one of the components of the Chimera Dragon, and combines with Demonshead, Diploguns, and Shellkarn to form it.

Media Appearance[]

Zoids Fuzors[]

The Flyscissors is seen in episode 18 of Zoids Fuzors, where it fused to form the Chimera Dragon. The Zoid was remotely controlled by the Chimera AI. The Zoid does appear briefly as a separate entity when the Chimera Dragon attacks by de-fusing mid battle, however its role is mostly relegated to being a component of the Chimera Dragon. The size of the Flyscissors is inconsistent with the model.

Manga[]

The Flyscissors sole appearance in any manga was in Zoids: Galaxy Quest Planet Zi were it was the main antagonist along with Shellkarn, who fought off against Maya and her Liger Zero X and Kugo and his Konig Wolf. After Flyscissors and Shellkarn destroyed both Maya and Kugo's zoids, they later faced off again, but against Maya with a Unenlagia and Kugo with a Leoblaze.

Model Kits[]

Blox[]

Flyscissors was first released in early June 2002 as part of the Blox line. The kit was molded mostly in orange and black. It shares also parts with Lord Gale. A re-colored version with red moulded parts was also released as part of the Chimera Dragon set.

An upgrade kit was released for this Zoid known as Limited Blox Parts Set A. (See Zoids Customise Parts for details) It included the Flyscissors wings, but they were recolored translucent blue.

Z-Builders[]

The Flyscissors was released as a part of Hasbro's Z-Builders line in the United States. It is mostly identical to the original Japanese Blox version.
