Despite not appearing at Otakon 2010, Viz Media this time around had a representative Amy Mar in attendance.
While details are scarce, it seems she would like to see more Zoids series licensed. Nothing more was really said. But if Zoids is still getting a mention in 2011, that's only a good thing. Genesis was aired in '06, and Viz media did release a trailer for it. However, barely a whisper has been spoken since then. So, while this news really isn't anything noteworthy, at least there is still interest in bringing more Zoids over.
That is a very very VERY good sign. Do you mind if i link this to a thread on ZoidsPoison?Leon35 04:14, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Go for it. Although I really haven't been able to find anything on the Internet relating to what specifically was said. (otherwise I'd link to it). I don't think there are any transcripts aside from what attendees blogged. I'm not sure what "interest" means, whether it means "we haven't ruled it out" or "we actually are trying to bring it over" I don't really know. Sylvanelite 08:18, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Either way, the fact that Zoids are still getting attention is great. Aside from Kotobukiya, there has barely been anything new happening...Azimuth727 18:09, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
I googled Amy Mar, where is there a mention of Zoids here? Do you mind if we ask your source Sylvan? It is only natural that I ask, since even the slightist chance of Viz Media returning to Zoids would be HUGE!

Well, I should be happy that VIZ may look into Zoids, but I was really hoping Funamatiom would pick them up. Oh well.
Anyhow, I wonder if Genesis will be released, or maybe my friend was right, and a new series is being worked on.

Source? Like I said, I don't have one that I can link to, otherwise I would have done so. I just did some searching around, the only thing I could find was this:
See section on Viz Media at the bottom:
- I asked whether there was any possibility for DVD plans for Cross Game and more of Monster; Mar wasn't sure but did comment that she wanted to see Monster continue. A similar response was given in regard to the possibility of more Zoids anime being licensed.
I'm not sure what "a similar response" is specifically though. I wish there was a transcript. Sylvanelite 01:33, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Sylvan.
I am not sure weather or not to put hope into this or not...maybe if I was there and I could have heard the way Mar was speaking, I would have known if she "wanted" them to continue or "wants" them to continue. The "wanted" implies a previous end, the "wants" implies a possible continuation.
(chant) WE WANT WANTS! Leon35 02:30, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
here is the ZP thread
@Zoids Fanatic: Funimation and Viz Media have worked closely in the past. Buso Renkin is an excellant example of this. There are a few more that I can't name off the top of my head.
