Overview

Furolesios, known to the European market as Hydrazoid, is a plesiosaurus-type Zoid designed for amphibious combat. More at home in the water than on land, it has flippers, unlike the later Empire Brachios design, and uses massive ballast tanks to become capable of proper underwater operation. Being one of the first Republic Zoids designed for this purpose, it was, for a time, one of the stronger Zoids in the water, and along with Aquadon formed the bulk of their naval force.

Video Games

The Furolesios appears as a catchable Zoid in Genobreaker's Story, like other small windup Zoids of its time.

Models

Original Japanese Release

Furolesios is a snap together kit, without paint or glue needed. The Zoid shares some parts (mainly, the ballast tanks and part of the body) with the Aquadon. It is colored similarly to the earlier Helic windup model kits: grey and dark blue, with off-white "whitehead" cockpit (shared by all small Zoids of the era), smoke cockpit glass, and black caps. The Zoid could be customized with many parts from the windup remodeling set later released separately (such as additional guns and missiles).

Original European Release

The zoid was released in Europe in 1984 under the name Hydrazoid. The Zoid was identical to the OJR version except for the packaging.

Toy's Dream Project

The Zoid was issued as a part of the Toy's Dream Project Helic Memorial Box Set II.
