Some of the models came with silver chromed weapons and pilots instead of the standard gold, even though all the boxes showed the gold chrome. No one truly knows why, however, it has been thought that the silver parts were advertized as a promotion for the kit by TOMY so that more people would buy the kit in hopes of receving the silver parts instaed of the gold. Another theory is that the all of the 1st runs of the liger came with the silver parts instaed of the gold featured on the box. However, it was most likely caused by a factory flaw. There is no way to tell if a King Baron contains silver or gold chrome parts from the box, being that there all the same. All of the boxes show box-art of the King Baron with the gold chrome parts regardless of the contents inside.
