The King Liger is a type of Zoid, a race of mechanical lifeforms from the fictional Zoids universe.
Overview
Designed fairly early into the Republic's invasion of Nyx, the King Liger was built to be a fast multi-purpose Zoid that could handle the narrow confines of the Devil's Maze. While smaller than the Shield Liger, it was more mobile, and especially adept at jumping. Its strong point was melee; it and its rival the Zeekdober were among the first Zoids to use bladed weaponry. The electromagnetic shield generators in its shoulders and hips ensured it would reach that point. It wasn't entirely lacking in guns, either, sporting a pair of vulcans on its cheeks and a beam needle in its tail.
All this contributed to it being a Zoid of choice for commanding officers, and quite possibly its eventual upgrade into the heavily-armed Kingbaron.

The King Liger kit comes on six frames, along with a battery-powered motor, twelve rubber caps, a gold pilot, a sticker sheet and an instruction manual. The King Liger is molded in metal flake maroon, white, silver-grey, and gold chrome.
The King Liger's construction isn't overly complex or difficult, putting it roughly in the easy range for Zoid complexity. The King Liger uses a single of "AA" sized battery for motion. Once activated, the Zoid walks forwards with its jaws opening and closing.
The King Liger is a part of the Grade-Up Series. These models have spinning connectors that are powered by the Zoid's motor. Optional weapons systems can be mounted on these connectors that have action features powered by the Zoid's motor. Grade-Up Zoids only have a single power connection port, the Gilvader is the only one that has three.
Zoids: Rebirth Century
The King Liger was re-issued as the twelfth model in the Zoids: Rebirth Century line under the designation number HRZ-012. It is almost identical to the original, except for the difference in the shade of gold chrome and maroon in the present kit as well as a new screw-locked battery cover. The canopy used is also from the King Baron design, having an extra peg not found in the original kit.
