Analog (Onigiri in Japanese) is a fictional character from Zoids: Wild. He is the second member of Team Freedom outside of Battalia.

Overview[]

Zoids Wild[]

Arashi meets Analog in episode 7, and after the events in that episode, Analog joins Team Freedom. Analog is a "boy professor" and is very knowledgeable/passionate about Zoids. He was initially forced into developing the technology required for Dark Metal Empire to use their Dark Blast, but was reluctant to do his research due to the harm it caused the Zoids.

Personality[]

Analog is a very scientifically- and analytically-minded individual, believing logic and knowledge to be the most important skills a person should have. However, after meeting Arashi and seeing his bond with Liger, Analog admits that emotion and intuition are also important. Even prior to this, though, Analog showed that he strongly cared about the wellbeing of Zoids and was forced against his will to experiment of Zoids, which he has a hard time forgiving himself for. He is very excitable when it comes to Zoids, having an encyclopedic knowledge of most Zoids, their riders, and their abilities. Despite this, he seeks out any material he can to expand on this knowledge base for Zoids. Despite his intelligence, he often overlooks certain details which lead him to make mistakes. However, he has a strong sense of responsibility, as shown when he made a new invention to clean up the mess made by his previous one.

Ability as a Zoid pilot[]

Analog is the second person on Team Freedom to use a Wild Blast attack. His fighting skills are lacking in comparison to much of the cast, but this is largely because he possesses a slow-moving Zoid. In single combat, he is unable to fight effectively against targets at close range. However, he makes up for this with versatility. Having one of the only effective long-range weapons in the series proves to be a potent tool for several fights. He is especially effective when it comes to airborne opponents, which the rest of the team has trouble with due to their Zoids only possessing close-range attacks.

Relationships[]

Analog has his own unique relationships with the following characters:

Arashi: Arashi and Analog immediately get along well, unlike several other members of Freedom, Analog rarely departs from Arashi. The two travel together almost always. Analog calls Arashi his first real friend.

Trivia[]

  • Like most characters in Zoids Wild, Analog's Japanese name "Onigiri" is based on food. Onigiri is a Japanese "rice ball" snack. A rice ball-like logo can be seen on Onigiri's back.
  • Analog's fanaticism is often used to introduce Zoids during the series. When a new Zoid appears, Analog explains its name, type and abilities. This can happen even when Analog is nowhere near the Zoid in question, such as is the case with the Dragz.
  • Analog's English Voice Actor is shared with Brad Hunter and Dark Judge, however in this performance he is most noticeably similar to "Double D" from Ed, Edd n Eddy.
