Categories and Name Edit
So, I had the card for this Zoid translated by someone that's far more adapted to reading Japanese than I am. The card series for the Zoid makes space to declare their movement capabilities (terrain), and for a secondary movement ability. Nowhere on the card is it indicated that the Pingitrain is capable of moving through water. It is strictly a mountain based Zoid.
I removed the category "Aquatic Zoids", because to me, Aquatic "Zoids" refers to the Zoid itself, and not just to the species (as it is not called "Aquatic Species"). If this is incorrect, feel free to re-add it, but because this Zoid is not indicated anywhere to be capable of aquatic travel, besides the fact that it's a penguin, I felt that it didn't belong in this category.
Next up is the name. The translator that I used translated the name as "Penguitrain", which makes a bit more sense than Pingitrain. I didn't update this on the wiki page because I feel that katakana translations are a bit more subject to interpretation, so I'll leave this up to staff for if they feel this name would be more appropriate.
- Thanks for the info! In lieu of any other translation, as you are the one who added it, feel free to use any name you like, within reason. Slax01 (talk) 22:05, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
- FWIW, the katakana are definitely not "Pengui-" in any literal sense. It's "pi-n-gi-i-to-re-e-n", which is a pretty clear "Pingitrain". Wikipedia.jp seems to indicate that the conventional transliteration for penguin is "pe-n-gi-n", so I'm not sure what the story with "pingi" is. Probably a pun I don't understand. -LV55 (talk) 05:04, January 17, 2013 (UTC)
