Had another big meeting with my co-conspirator and we completely overhauled a lot of the player ideas we had come up with earlier, opting for a much more streamlined and improved system. Weapon Skills are gone, to be replaced with weapon system specialization talents. We also came up with some awesome ideas on how to make player creation more freeform than any D20 game that has come out before. The idea is that instead of picking a class, the player can create their own custom class that tailors to them. It should be pretty awesome when all is said and done. We have also come up with some great ideas for battlefield affects, like pinning fire, shaken pilots, etc, that will gives combat much more depth and make each player very careful…

Had another long meeting yesterday, thanks mainly to Broba Fett being off of work and me not having any more finals. We discussed Zoid Pilot talent trees, reworked the movement system we had previously come up with (making it simpler yet still functional), figured somewhat on how we are going to handle aerial combat, ironed out a lot of rough issues about turn/round order and combat procedure, and started making a comprehensive list of various pilot actions. We changed the Pilot Skill (Computer Systems) to just (Systems), and split up the Pilot Skill (Maneuvering) to (Land Maneuvering) and (Aerial Maneuvering). Had a really productive Zoids D20 Meeting yesterday with my main partner in making the RPG (Gonna call him Broba Fett for the time being) and we ironed out a functional system for how Zoid pilots will manage the weapon systems in the Zoids, called Pilot Skills. Unlike regular D20 where there are player skills, the Pilots will get both Player Skill Points each level as well as Pilot Skill Points each level and they will allot them to various areas of Zoid Management. The current Pilot Skills we have are: (Maneuvering), (Computer Systems), (Sniper Rifles), (Rifles), (Machine Guns), (Artillery), (Missiles), (Melee), (Short Range Cannons), and (Long Range Cannons).
