There are some exceptions to this, it has been seen that fusing with an [[Organoid]] can regenerate a Zoid even after it has turned to stone. Furthermore, the [[Murasame Liger]] as seen in [[Zoids Genesis]] possess the unique ability to repair it's own Zoid Core. This could be because of its ability to Evolt, although the limits to this system are unclear. There are also some instances were Zoids are in possession of multiple Zoid Cores ([[Deadly Kong]]) or that Zoids have modified Zoid Cores ([[Ultimate X]]). It is unclear if Organoids posses a Zoid Core, however, it has been seen in the case of [[Shadow]] that a deceased organoid will turn to stone, much as a Zoid would. Organoid wounds may be healed by [[Zoid Magnite]] rock, which is found in active volcanoes.

Genesis Zoid Core

The Zoid Core is the fundamental power source for all Zoids. A Zoid is essentially a mechanical animal formed around the techno-organic core which serves as its heart and mind. The Core is considered to be 'alive', making the Zoid a living creature. Otherwise, its body is an artificial mechanical construct like any other mecha. Varying in appearance, the Zoid Core is not homogeneous for all Zoids. If a Zoid has it's Core damaged, then the Zoid will die and cannot be repaired. After a while, the Zoid will turn to stone, based on on the Zoids: Chaotic Century and Zoids: New Century Zero animes.

There are some exceptions to this, it has been seen that fusing with an Organoid can regenerate a Zoid even after it has turned to stone. Furthermore, the Murasame Liger as seen in Zoids Genesis possess the unique ability to repair it's own Zoid Core. This could be because of its ability to Evolt, although the limits to this system are unclear. There are also some instances were Zoids are in possession of multiple Zoid Cores (Deadly Kong) or that Zoids have modified Zoid Cores (Ultimate X). It is unclear if Organoids posses a Zoid Core, however, it has been seen in the case of Shadow that a deceased organoid will turn to stone, much as a Zoid would. Organoid wounds may be healed by Zoid Magnite rock, which is found in active volcanoes.

Many scientists have tried fusing Zoid cores together, usually illegally, to create new Zoids. Often these plans end in failure. The only instance where this has seen to work is in Zoids: Chaotic Century, where the Hiltz used used his organoid Ambient to fuse the two ultra-aggressive scorpion type Zoids created by the Ancient Zoidians to fight the Deathsaurer. These two Zoids together create the Death Stinger. Although Zoid cores are the power source for Zoids, they themselves draw power from external sources. It is said that if the Zoid Eve is destroyed, all Zoids will stop working. This is subverted in Genesis, where Zoids do not derive their power from Zoid Eve, but rely on a limited fuel called reggel. Even in Genesis, despite the different power source, if the Zoid Core is destroyed, then the Zoid will cease to function.
