Zoid evolution is the process of going from a base form of Zoid to a more advanced form. This kind of evolution happens differently (and often inconsistently) in various Zoids media.
Battle Story
The Battle Story gives comprehensive details on how each Zoid is formed. Wild Zoids were detailed to exist, which eventually evolved (naturally, or otherwise) into Zoids currently used by humans of Zi's various factions and states.
Anime
Chaotic Century and Guardian Force
In the events of Chaotic Century and Guardian Force, organoids are used to evolve Zoids. Several prominent examples exist:
- Van Flyheight's Shield Liger was the first Zoid to be evolved via Zeke. It upgraded to the Blade Liger.
- Raven's Geno Saurer was made from the remains of his first through the organoid Shadow. This second Geno Saurer later evolved into the Geno Breaker; although this was done by Shadow, it is implied Ambient tampered with the process.
Genesis
In Zoids: Genesis, the Murasame Liger is shown to be able to "evolt", that is to change forms spontaneously.
Zoids Wild ZERO
In Zoids: Wild ZERO, the Beast Liger is shown to evolve from a more primitive base Liger, when exposed to the pendant of Sally Land in episode 1. The Wild Blast used by Leo Conrad in this series is called an "Evo Blast", relation to "evolution release" prior to activation.
Video Games
Zoids video games often allow the player to use parts to create new Zoids. Zoids Saga DS shows roughly how each Zoid is related.
