Zero is Stolen - The Fiery Battle is episode 12 from the Zoids: New Century anime series, based on TOMY's Zoids model franchise.
Overview[]
The episode begins with a match between the Blitz and Champ team, with Harry mounting a Plasma Particle Gun on his Cannon Tortoise, hoping the added firepower would win him the battle. He does not, and is soundly defeated. Unbeknownst to them, Altail watches the battle and decides to test the Liger Zero to see if it really is the Ultimate X. To this end, he sorties a small army of Zabats, lead by Pierce, to steal the Liger Zero. They succeed and even though Bit gives chase in the Pteras while Leena and Brad offer cover fire from the ground, the Backdraft Group is successful in stealing the Zoid.
Dr. Toros bribes Harry with a date from Leena, but even his vast resources fail to locate the missing Liger. Bit goes out on his own to try and find the Liger, but is kidnapped by the Backdraft Group. They take him to an arena, requiring him to pilot the Liger Zero, as it refuses to obey the commands of any Backdraft pilot. They attempt to recruit him, pitting him against Stoller and his Elephander. He refuses, but is forced to, as they threaten to destroy the Liger if he does not participate.
Meanwhile, Dr. Toros finds plasma particle traces, attached to the Liger when Harry fired his gun in the previous battle, allowing them to track it. The battle begins between Stoller and Bit, in an arena surrounded by flames, with no pilot safety equipment installed, to make for higher wages. Bit attempts to fight, but the Elephander overwhelms him, using its sheer size to throw the Liger around like a ragdoll. It manages to get the upper hand, but before he finishes off the Liger, Stoller pauses. The Hover Cargo arrives and shells the stadium, giving Bit the opportunity to escape, which he does. Quickly, Bit coverts to Schneider while Brad and Leena pin the Elephander with cover fire. He charges the Elephander, which deploys its shield. Even though Bit cuts through the shield and damages the Elephander with his Buster Slash, he looses a blade. Thus, the two warriors agree that the battle is a tie, and the episode ends.
