Destiny Unchained! Rise of Demise! is the thirteenth episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on September 29, 2018.
Overview[]
This episode is a showdown between Quade and Gigaboss.
The episode starts fairly standard fashion, the two seem evenly matched. Eventually Gigaboss pulls out a Hacker key and uses his Dark Blast.
Quade responds by using his Wild Blast for the first time.
Quade succeeds in defeating Gigaboss' Ruin.
But this episode's called "Demise" for a reason. Gallagher asks to don his most powerful Zoid, Demise.
Demise is a legendary Zoid, feared by everyone. An Apex predator it sat atop the food chain. It's said to have led to the extinction of half of all Zoids species. It's so dangerous it was bound by chains.
None the less, Gigaboss uses the Zoid and challenges Quade.
Demise proves absolutely brutal. When Arashi tries to intervene, Quade is forced to cover him. Quade's Zaber Fang being wounded in the process.
Quade gives Arashi his headband. Arashi, manages to tell Quade the name of his team for the first time: "Freedom". Exhausted from the prolonged battle, Arashi collapses. Batallia and Analog listen to Quade's pleads for them to escape.
Quade, himself wounded along with the Zaber Fang then turns his focus to Gigaboss.
A great fight ensues, Quade pushing his Zoid further and further past his limits. Gigaboss, initially insists the fight be one-on-one. But even being injured, Quade proves to be too much for Gigaboss to handle alone. Surrounded by Dark Metal Rapterrix, Gigaboss is forced to use one to stop Quade's final attack: Saberstrike. Quade is defeated.
Offscreen, the Zaber Fang is defeated, and Quade dies to the the Demise and Gigaboss.
Shade is seen by Quade flying above, moments away from attacking. But Quade simply shakes his head, and Shade reluctantly disengages.
The scattered members of Team Supreme all react, despite being unaware of what just happened.
When Arashi awakens, he immediately tries to head back to help Quade. But Shade, the only other Team Supreme member present, convinces him not to. Arashi looks inside the folded bandanna, and finds a Zoid Key within. It's not Quade's Zoid key.
Trivia[]
- In Japanese, this episode is the end of an anime season with new intro and ending themes beginning next episode. In the English dub, the seasons are split at episode 25.
- In the English version, some of the blood is removed from scenes showing Quade's injuries.
