Bug Catchers! A New Chapter! is the twenty-first episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on November 24, 2018.
Overview[]
Resuming where the last episode left off, Team Freedom seek out Quade's old master, the Master Bug.
They take a ride with Greta, who believes the Zoid Seeker to be some kind of dashing knight. As they arrive at the location, they find nobody there.
Eventually, the group finds him, and much to the chagrin of Greta, he turns out to be an old man. Regardless, Team Freedom press on for training. The master agrees, on the condition they provide him with books. Arashi goes through Analog's backpack to find some (although he doesn't want to part with his textbooks) and a fashion magazine of Battalia's falls out. The man takes it agrees to train them, provided they can best him in a game of Zoid Tag.
He's a spritely man, moving faster than the eye can track. His Zoid, Gyro, also proves to be extremely nimble.
Much of the episode is the team trying to catch him, and failing at every opportunity.
As Arashi presses on, citing revenge for Quade, Arashi states Quade was felled by Gigaboss. In a twist, it's revealed that the Master didn't just train Quade, but also trained Gigaboss.
In fact, Gigaboss and Quade were close friends at one point.
Eventually Arashi and the team use their Wild Blasts and a trap set up to pin the master. They fail to capture him, but succeed in proving their worth. The episode ends as he agrees to train them.
Trivia[]
- In the Japanese version, Master Bug (Mushi Hermit) is shown to be lecherous, looking for 'ecchi' material. In the English dub this is toned down, instead he's only looking for any reading material in general.
