Heartache, Past and Stingers is the thirtieth episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on February 02, 2019.
Overview
The Freedom group begin faced with a split of 3 paths. To decided which way to go, they all pick a preferred direction at once. Penne and Arashi pick the same choice out of gut reaction, Onigiri and Gyoza pick another, and Salt picks the third based on the wind. Instead of trying to consolidate their choices, the team splits up (remember, way back it was stated teams don't always stick together).
As Arashi and Penne go on their way, the Scorpear's leg gets stuck in a crack. Without Onigiri, they can't fix it. Arashi offers to go find him, but at that moment a chainsaw weilding man appears. He turns out to be a Zoid Mechanic, and repairs the Scorpear back at his garage, where the duo meet his wife and newborn kid. Arashi and Penne don't have any money, and although the man doesn't want payment, the two offer to help work to repay his kindness.
As Arashi and Penne work in the field, Penne talks about her past. Her parents were similar to the mechanic they just met, and had worked on the Scorpear when Penne was young. However, bandits attacked and Penne's father was killed defending them. Later, her mother also died. Penne turned to bounty hunting, and captured the person that attacked her father as her first reward. Eventually, this led up to her meeting Arashi and the events earlier in the series.
Elsewhere, Salt sees the wanted poster for Arashi and heads back towards the direction of Penne and Arashi. Foiegras from the Death Metal Empire is after him.
As Penne and Arashi finish their work, bandits attack the mechanic. They were after the bounty on Arashi. Determined not to lose, Penne and Arashi fend off the bandits, only for Foiegras to arrive. Penne and Arashi run, but find themselves cornered against a cliffside. As they fight Foiegras reveals to Arashi that they are after his Zoid Key. They defeat the Raptors with relative ease, but Foiegras proves strong, especially with his Death Blast.
At that moment, Salt arrives and uses his Second Gear's Howling Shout. The attack allows Arashi to slip past and use his new King of Claw Spiral attack. Finally Penne stabs the Knuckle Kong, and it falls off the cliff. The trio then leaves. Foiegras survives but the Kong is badly damaged.
Post-credits shows Avocado and Garlic from team Supreme arriving at some ruins of some sort.
