Bronson's Bond! is the thirty-fourth episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on March 2, 2019.

Overview[]

The team arrive in a new village, still looking for the resistance to help with maintenance for their Zoids. However, when they arrive they find the village desolate and in ruins.

A scrap of paper blows towards Arashi, and a lone man appears there, confronting the protagonists for the paper back. It's a half of a photo, containing a Pincers.

The group talk to the man, who's name is 'Bronson', but get no real info. On the verge of giving up, they end up being directed to a yard out the back, where they can repair their Zoids. After repairing the Liger, Arashi slips and drops the Key bestowed to him by Quade. The man recognises the name "Quade".

The man tells them: their Zoids won't have their back forever.

He reveals his past. He fought as part of the resistance, and piloted the Pincers in the photo, name "Arrow". He could use the Zoid's Wild Blast. But after many battles, Arrow wore down. He went off for repairs, and in his absence, the resistance was attacked and wiped out, leading to the ruins seen at present. T

This has a profound effect on Arashi, who has a nightmare about fighting Gigaboss. In it, he finds himself unable to trigger the Liger's Wild Blast.

The next day, the Dark Metal Raptor trio appear and attack. Arashi finds himself unable to use the Wild Blast out of fear for the Liger. The remaining members of team Freedom, except Apex, expunge the Death Metal forces.

Seeing his hesitation, the team (sans Apex) challenge Arashi in a match. Arashi again finds himself unable to use the Wild Blast. It's then he realises that the Resistance likely caused the damage to the village in an uncontrolled Wild Blast. Arrow had left because it was too scared to look at the damage.

At the end of the episode, the Resistant forces return, including Arrow. It had been responding to Bronson this whole time, but was too far to arrive immediately.

Trivia[]

  • Like several episodes, the English dub is changed from the Japanese version. In Japanese, Bronson is a washed up drunk with fears that everyone around him will die. In English, this is toned down significantly. His behaviour and bad smell are comedically chalked up to him looking like a Pirate, and not having access to a shower.
