Deal with Demise! is the 42nd episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on the 4th of May 2019.
Overview[]
This episode focuses on the backstory of Drake.
It is shown that Gigaboss's Ruin is still damaged from the previous fight against Team Freedom and Team Supreme. Drake's Ruin, while also injured from their previous fights, is not as bad.
In flashback, it's revealed that Drake's parents willingly went to Dark Metal with two D-Raptor type Zoids. The red one Drake currently uses, and the white one seen in flashback.
However, Drakes parents realise that joining Dark Metal is a mistake, and urge Drake to escape. He takes the two Zoids, but fails to escape. Instead finding himself face-to-face with Gigaboss's forces, and his purple Ruin.
Gigaboss reveals that Demise is the only Zoid to feed of other Zoids for sustenance. It also records the DNA of every one of its prey.It can then hack the distress receptors of that species of Zoid, and completely debilitate them with feardespite having never encountered each other.
Gallagher gives Drake a choice, choose one Zoid to be scrapped. Drake almost chooses the red Ruin, but hesitates. However, the white Ruin makes the choice and is scrapped itself.
Back in the present, Gigaboss is looking to off his now useless Ruin, giving the order to Drake. But intelligence comes in about the resistance, and Drake uses the chance to take both Ruins and attack the resistance. Gigaboss gives Drake the Dark Metal Key for the purple Ruin. It's known that should the Zoid use its Dark Blast another time, it wouldn't survive.
Drake attacks the resistance, and comes across Team Freedom receiving repairs. Arashi is the only one able to fight, and takes on both D-Raptor Zoids. But he's reluctant, as he can clearly see the damage done to the Zoids. He pleads with Drake not to fight, saying that Drake really loves Zoids. But Drake ignores him and activates the Dark Blast of both Zoids, knowing full well that the purple one cannot handle the stress of the Dark Blast. Arashi is forced to use his Wild Blast in response. Apex is the next repaired, and he comes to Arashi's aid.
But the purple ignores them and slowly walks towards the resistance hanger. Arashi and Apex slow it down, but can't stop it. After everyone escapes, the Zoid reaches the interior, where its injuries cause sparks to meet oil drums that explode, destroying the Zoid and the base.
Drake retreats with his Ruin, and reports the successful destruction of the base to Gigaboss. Gigaboss is totally unfazed by the loss of the other Zoid, while Drake still has the Gilraptor's oil fresh on his glove.
