Overview[]

While Gigaboss faces Drake and Arashi, Analog and Bastion face Malware and Haxile.

As none of the allies are able to maintain their Wild Blasts, another Zoid enters the fray. The Zaber Fang.

Malware and Haxile look to attack the Zoid, but find they cannot. Their Zoids formerly belonged to Supreme, and find themselves seeing images of Quade appearing before them. The spirit of Wuade rises up his Zoid Key, and activates the Zaber Fang's Wild Blast, a feat presumed impossible until now.

Malware and Haxile manage to overcome their Zoid's hesitation and charge the Zaber Fang, but Quade's spirit proves to be a powerful asset. The Zaber Fang's roar breaks the Dark Blast devices placed on Grax and Rash, rending them no longer under Dark Metal's control.

Back inside, Arashi is hesitant to engage Demise, knowing it's the Ancient Treasure Z. None the less they engage their Wild Blasts.

At this time, Router shows up. It appears now is his time to shine. However, Demise has other ideas, it promptly eats the Pincers. Gaining a burst of power, Demise lets out a roar and starts to bring the building down.

As Arashi and Drake flee the collapsing building, rubble threatens to crush the Liger, but Battalia jumps in and saves him. While her Wild Blast is no longer active, she is ok despite her wounds previously.

Their reunion is short-lived, Demise breaks through and bites Needle. Snare manages to free Battalia, although Needle loses its tail from the damage.

The news of Apex, combined with taunting from Gallagher, proves enough for Arashi to engage his Berserk mode.

The building comes down, and the remaining members fight outside. Dyna hits Arashi and saves him from an attack from Demise's tail. All of a sudden, Master Bug appears. His Zoid takes damage from Demise's roar, but he's able to land a powerful blow on the Demise. He realises that Demise isn't a foe that will go down in just one hit.

Arashi looks to gain the upper hand by utilising the full power of his Berserk mode. He tells his allies to flee to safety so that he doesn't attack them by mistake.

But they don't let him. The Zaber Fang and the spirit of Quade stand before him, as well as the remaining members of Freedom on foot. They each coax him out of the attack. Then Master Bug adds a piece of information, the Legend of the Ancient Treasure Z. The power in the legend was not just for Demise, but also the Liger to keep Demise in check. If the rider could form a strong enough bond, they could restore balance to the world.

Gigaboss merely watches this exchange of words, and when they are done goes to face them. The remaining three Zoids are the Liger, Ruin, and Zaber Fang. Arashi, now inspired undoes his Berserk mode, and unlocks his final mode.

As they clash it pans to Greta, who notices the sky changing.

The Liger and Demise battle their way up to the top of the volcano, and during this climb Gigaboss notices the Death Rex's key is loose. He goes to force it in, but the backlash knocks him clean off the Zoid. Demise alone advances up the cliff. Drake sees Gigaboss, defenceless, and Gigaboss notes this is Drake's chance to get revenge. Drake merely ignores him and moves up the mountain.

Finally at the top of the Volcano, Arashi unlocks the Wild Liger's final true form. He uses his "Ultra King Claw" attack, but even that is ineffective.

After a few more clashes, Arashi notices something. Demise is still using its Death Blast. It never had a partner like his Liger did, it never used a Wild Blast. Now that Gigaboss was defeated, there was no need for Demise to keep fighting. Arashi loves Zoids, and with the Liger being "freedom" he wanted to give the Death Rex freedom.

He nearly succeeds, the Death Metal Key housing begins to break apart. But Gigaboss manages to catch up to them and force the key back into its housing.

Demise charges Arashi anew, and Drake jumps in the way. Ruin is bitten by the Death Rex, and Arashi is left with no option but to fight.

He uses his final form to strike Demise with his "King Claw" and breaks through it, freeing Drake and causing Demise to plunge into the volcano below. The destruction of Demise anguishes Arashi, who was so close to reforming the Zoid.

As the episode concludes, the members of Team Freedom and Drake go their separate ways.

Trivia[]

  • In the Netflix version, substantial content was cut from this episode.
    • On foot, the 4 members of Supreme fight using rocket launchers to assist.
    • Since the scene was cut from the previous episode, Apex is entirely absent this episode. In the Japanse dub, Snare explains to the party what happened to him and the blast with Dragz.
    • Gigaboss does not fall into the magma. He manages to cling to the side of the cliff. Here, he sees the spirit of Quade. As Quade extends his hand for help, Gigaboss rejects this and lets go of the cliff, falling to his doom.
  • Additionally, the Japanese version has special credits this episode that show what happens to each character:
    • During the credits roll, Battalia is shown returning to her orphanage.
    • Bastion, his sister.
    • Analogteams up with Kaito from episode 41, and Greta is seen with them.
    • The Four Dark Warriors (sans Drake) and Deleters are shown to be in prison on an island, the warriors giving a concert.
    • Router is shown to be alive and on vocals.
    • Supreme with their remaining 3 Zoids are shown together.
    • After a brief pause, Shiloh from episode 9, is shown handing candy to Apex and the Hunter Wolf.
    • Finally, the Fang Tiger appears on a clifftop, watching over the spirit of Quade.
  • After the credits, Arashi is shown parting ways with Drake. As they leave, Arashi throws him a Freedom badge. This time, Drake accepts.
  • In the Japanese version, the ending theme "best friends" is not used, instead "Wild Blue" from Penguin Research is played. Best Friends is still credited but marked with an asterisk.
  • In the Japanese version, Tremor has one voiced line in this episode.
