Overview
Edit
This episode introduces Penne, pilot of the Scorpear.
Arashi goes searching for the Great Ancient Treasure Z, and following rumors ends up meeting Penne. She points out Arashi's naivety, specifically his lack of maintenance on the Wild Liger.
While her specialty is Zoid customisation, she is able to do at least basic repairs to the Liger.
Arashi is surprised that the Liger even allows her near it. As such, he tries to invite her onto his team.
She laughs at his poor attempt at a team name and logo. Being a designer, she replaces his logo and applies it to the Liger. When asked about "team stretchy" Arashi tells her his team should have the freedom to stretch out. Penne responds by re-naming the team "Freedom", which immediately gets Arashi's praise.
As they go on, they find that the treasure they were looking for is not the Great Ancient Treasure Z, but instead a grove of flowers that animals visit to recover.
But before they can leave, bandits arrive. They had followed the leaking oil from the Liger. While there is no treasure for them to steal, they start to trash the grove.
Arashi uses his Wild Blast and defeats them.
Penne quizzes Arashi about the Blast, initially thinking it's a Death Blast. But she is reassured when Arashi explains he is not part of the Death Metal Empire.
At the end of the episode, Arashi and Penne part ways. It's not necessary for team members to be together 100% of the time, as mentioned by Bacon and his team Supreme.
Trivia
Edit
- Aside from Arashi, Penne is the only other person to have touched the Liger thusfar.
- Team Freedom's logo has its tongue sticking out. In the Manga and early concepts for Arashi, he's often seen with his tongue sticking out. However, this rarely happens in the anime. As such, when Penne designs the logo for team Freedom, she adds the tongue, without seeing Arashi do it.
