Battle at the Festival! Liger vs Grachio! is the sixth episode of Zoids: Wild. It first aired in Japan on August 11, 2018.
Overview
This episode starts with Arashi once again out in the wilderness, with no food.
He's brought to a village where he's fed. The villagers there aren't afraid of Zoids. The theme of this village is cowboy hats.
They are soon introduced to a rival village with baseball caps. A Zoid fight is set to happen between them, Arashi jumps at the chance and agrees, the Liger has absolutely no reaction to the contest, but Arashi seems more than happy to sign them up for it.
He sneaks into the other village at night to get a sneak peek at the opponent, only to find it's Kuroame from team Supreme. They talk a bit, and Arashi tells him what he's been up to so far.
Eventually they go their different ways and prepare for the next day. Arashi naturally ends up running late, but on the way sees Penne. Despite going their separate ways they ended up meeting again (much quicker than Penne had intended). She begins to explain the rules of the contest to Arashi, part way through, he leaves for the fight.
The fight begins, and it goes more-or-less like Penne suggested, the Grachio is larger and more powerful, while the Liger has speed. The speed is less of an advantage in the confined space of the arena.
The battle is interrupted by Death Metal forces from the early episodes. Arashi uses his Wild Blast and quickly dispatches the mooks.
Meanwhile, Kuroame unleashes his Wild Blast, speaking his first line in the Anime. The foes are promptly defeated.
Trivia
- Twitter calls the Raptor pilots the "Z boys".
- There's a small after-credit section on this episode, featuring a new character. However, viewers already know who they are (and that they will join team Freedom), since they appear in the intro theme.
