TBA is the twentieth episode of the Zoids: Wild ZERO anime series, based on TOMY's Zoids franchise. It first aired in Japan on February 28, 2020 on TV Tokyo.
Overview[]
The episode starts with Dr Borman in his Jeep gathering parts from derelict planes. He takes them to a nearby facility where a young boy is there to give him food. Dr Borman is working on a regeneration cube. The boy is from a a village where the cube was located. Dr Borman explains to the child that the work on the cube is dangerous, the boy listens and hold Dr Borman in deep respect. Borman then tells the boy he will soon be leaving the village.
Meanwhile, the main cast load up on fuel, gathering enough for Buzz's car and ship. They decide to head out to a recent sighting of a pillar of light. It's none other than where Borman is, but they have no way of knowing that at the moment.
Finally, in the Empire Dr Land is shown to have a nightmare where he is attacked by his own hand. As he wakes he talks to Melville. She asks why Dr Land appears to be so eager to find Dr Borman. She notes that Land's work on Zoids and even reviving the Genospino should make him the frontmost scientist in the Empire. So why worry about Dr Borman?
Land explains, back on Planet Zi both he and Borman were researchers. They were both excellent, but focused on different areas. Land on destruction and Borman on creation. Hence why Borman is working on Regeneration cubes, and Land on weapons. He goes one step further with his explanation. He shows Melvielle something top secret. It's a part of a ruined Zoid piece. A relic from a time when the Death Rex and Geno Spino first appeared on Earth following the Zi migration. In order to complete it, he needs the research from Dr Borman.
It's a Charged Particle Cannon.
Back with Leo and the others, they arrive at the village, just as the Empire are leaving. The Empire wanted the villagers to tell them about Borman and the Regeneration Cube, but the villagers refused. Buzz's jeep is mistaken for Borman's jeep, and the boy from the start of the episode approaches the main cast. He's sad to learn it's not Borman, but Sally picks up on the name and the cast talk to the villagers. Dr Borman had arrived a little earlier and help repair the village's generator when they were short on electricity. He had since left, but not before activating a Regeneration Cube.
At this point the Empire come back with 6 Cannon Bulls, attempting to strong-arm their demands. Jo Aysel stands up to them but they are far more powerful than her Raptoria. Leo then jumps in, but against 6 opponent, even he's outmatched. Finally, 9 Kuwaganos appear from the republic to back up Jo and force the Cannon Bulls to retreat. The Republic having air superiority in the area mean they can maintain peace for a while.
As the main cast set out to leave the village, they notice an old laptop left by Dr Borman. It doesn't work initially, but Sally's pendant reacts to it and reveals a message. Dr Borman tells Sally she had found great allies and not to worry. But under no circumstances was she to hand over the pendant to the Empire. They would use it for a weapon of destruction.
Finally, right at the end of the episode, an Imperial transport is seen moving Aldridge. They take him to a remote base where he meets alone with Dr Land. Dr Land gives him an offer: Defeat Leo, and take Sally's pendant. To achieve this, Dr Land reveals a black Fang Tiger for Aldridge to use.
