The Omega Rex's Charged Particle Cannon
Rage - Charged Particle Cannon is the twenty-fifth episode of the Zoids: Wild ZERO anime series, based on TOMY's Zoids franchise. It first aired in Japan on April 03, 2020 on TV Tokyo.
Overview[]
Leo takes Sally a flees the island. They need to be clear before the combined forces can launch their assault, however blocking their path is the group of Zoids still defending the island.
Baan shows up to the rescue, using his stealth, he punches a hole in the blockade and the two run back over the broken bridge. While they can't clear the jump a second time Buzz Cunningham puts his ship into the hole and the pair flee on that.
With Leo and Sally clear, the combined forces all engage their Wild Blasts. Giller takes to the skies, and Dias activates a silver Wild Liger equipped with Cannon Bull munitions. The combined forces proceed to lay waste to the island, overwhelming anything that would have been left.
But as it turns out, their attack fails to take down their primary target. The Omega Rex still stands. It's protected by a glowing light - the same light that transformed the Beast Liger in episode 1. The light of the pendant gives the Omega Rex supposedly infinite energy while it's active. And using this allows the Zoid to power up one shot of its Wild Blast: the Charged Particle Cannon.
It engages footlocks and begins to take form, drawing in particles via an intake fan, its head splits to reveal the large cannon housed in its mouth.
Hannah Melville inside the Zoid takes extreme backlash from the Wild Blast forced upon her. She reluctantly persists while the giant cannon activates.
The combined forces again begin their attack, but at this point there is no stopping the Omega Rex. Moments before firing the forces begin to scatter. Melville, reeling from the pain of the Wild Blast loses her aim and tilts the gun slightly up.
It fires.
The Charge Particle Cannon immediately lays waste to everything it hits. It passes through Zoids like they don't exist. The temporary camp set up is vaporised, along with a significant chunk of the combined forces. As the aim was raised, even Giller's Sniptera is hit and loses a wing.
As the beam subsides, it's shown that even most of the mountain behind the forces was destroyed.
Dr Land takes the Omega Rex and withdraws, he knew the pendant would be depleted from this location after one shot.
The rest of the episode is people from all sides reeling from the shock of the Omega Rex. The Republic, Empire and even Melville herself.
