Synopsis

Sally, explains her past. On planet Zi, they left because the planet was doomed. They set up colony ships with deep sleep and intended to do "Zi Forming" (terraforming, but for Zi). However, as they left Zi, the Empire rebelled and tried to seize control of the ship. The ship was forced to escape through a wormhole, eventually arriving at Earth.

Sally is one of the "first generation", who have difficulty breathing in Earth's atmosphere. Due to the failed Zi forming, those in the first generation require masks. Sally no longer needs the mask due to changes from her pendant, that altered Leo and the Beast Liger. The pendant is from Dr Bowman, a researcher from Planet Zi seen on the colony ship.

Buzz and Leo are "second generation", and should by all rights be younger than Sally. However, Sally explains that just before the main ship entered the wormhole, she ejected and remained in deep sleep. So she is still a young girl.

Leo points out a flaw in the story, however. He notes that he had to retrieve the Liger from deep underground. It (and all Zoids, even those of the Empire) have been buried for a long time. Sally realises that the wormhole was also a time warp. The ship and Zoids were sent back in time.

During the meanwhile, back with the Empire, Sgt Shell demos the Bazootle's firepower, dispatching a bunch of armed GilRaptors. Luc requests his aid, and Shell goes after Buzz.

Leo and Sally go out, and arrive to find Buzz tied up by the Empire soldiers. The soldiers ambush Leo, but thanks to his partially metal body, their weapons are ineffective against him. They grab some minor equipment and escape, using the Liger's rocket boosters from the previous episode to break out.

The run in to the Bazootle, and quickly find that the Liger's Beast of Claw is ineffective against its tough armour. The Bazootle responds by using it's machine blast. However, the machine blast attack is likewise ineffective against the Liger, and the transformation introduced gaps in the Bazootle's armour that the the Liger could exploit to break through and escape.
