Lion that can't fly is the third episode of the Zoids: Wild ZERO anime series, based on TOMY's Zoids franchise. It first aired in Japan on October 18, 2019 on TV Tokyo.

Synopsis[]
Leo, Buzz, and Sally flee after their encounter with the Empire the episode previously.
They travel by ship to begin searching for Sally's grandfather. Her pendant is the key, as it contains a map of Earth prior to the upheaval at the start of the series.
Their travel takes them unknowingly into a base of the Empire, where they see Lt Giller and the Sniptera.
They are pulled ashore and questioned, Buzz uses his licences for being a courier to make legitimate passage through. The Empire notes that they have 3 people, instead of the licensed 2. They detain the trio for a while as they check the validity of the licence.
Leo watches on at the goings on of the base, and sees Giller re-arm.
Eventually the trio are cleared and they begin to leave. The Empire takes a portion of their Rare Metal as a patronage fee.
But before they can get away, the Empire realises who they are and sends a group of Scorpears and Gabrigators after them. Leo defeats the Scorpears and they all flee onto land to break away from the Gabrigators.
However, the Sniptera pursues.
Leo evades and tries to use the forest as cover to jump the Sniptera as it makes a low pass searching for him. But despite using his Evo Blast, he's unable to land a blow on the Sniptera, and crashes back to the ground. The Sniptera is free to hover out of range of the now defenceless Beast Liger.
But before Giller can go on further, a republican Triceradogos Custom appears, piloted by Dias of the republic. He stares down Giller, before Giller is recalled by his superior officer, Aldridge.
The episode ends with Buzz, Leo and Sally being saved by Dias.
