Their tactic is simple. Since the Omega Rex blew a hole in Neo Zenebas City, they would deploy a large force at the base of the city and draw out the "True Empire" forces. Meanwhile, two Sniptera would enter from above using the other side of the hole and attempt to sneak in and rescue Fiona.
However, the Republic can't offer direct support. After all, this is a battle between apparent heirs to the Empire.
The battle starts and the two Empires begin trading blows.
It largely goes to plan, and a huge battalion of Kill Scythe are drawn out allowing Leo and Giller to enter the city.
Inside, Fiona meets with Melville. She laments that Melville is indeed her older sister. She somewhat regrets not knowing of Hannah in the past, since Fiona lacks any other family. Despite the circumstances, she wants to know Melville better. Melville appears to take her to heart but since they were in the middle of a coup she distances herself from Fiona.
Elsewhere in the city, Leo and Giller take down a small patrol of Kill Scythe and disembark their Sniptera. Giller responds over the Kill Scythe's radio to trick the True Empire into thinking their patrol is still on schedule.
Leo has a better idea, to use the Kill Scythe to sneak past the rest of the forces unnoticed. After reviewing the specs on those Zoids, the two successfully manage to get all the way past the enemy forces and reach Fiona.
They take Fiona and Jiin and head back to their Sniptera. However their ruse is exposed and they are cut off by more Kill Scythe when they disembark their Zoids.
However they are saved by none other than Hannah Melville. Her previous compassion (shown when piloting the Omega Rex) combined with her encounter with Fiona prove enough for her to allow Fiona to escape.
With Fiona, Jiin, Leo and Giller now free, the Republic arrives at the base of the city bolstering the Empire forces. With the battle now pitched against the "True Empire" Shigaru decides to leave, taking Hannah with him. He uses a unique gold Kill Scythe to resonate with her pilot suit and cause her backlash, knocking her out.
