Synopsis
The Empire has a new Zoid, the Gatling Fox. It's an experimental Zoid that uses optical camouflage. It's deployed against Republican forces to great effect, none of their defences are able to defeat the Zoid as they are simply unable to see it.
The Zoid is piloted by Staff Sergeant Baan Blood, under the supervision of Captain Knox.
While the Zoid is effective, it proves unreliable. After completing it's mission the Fox's visor breaks down and Baan loses control of the Zoid.
Nevertheless, he completes several missions and is granted the opportunity to join Knox's brigade.
He joins in this fight and engages the Republican forces. Initially it seems to be successful, but the Fox breaks down, disengaging stealth and blasting back through the Imperial forces to flee the combat area.
As he flees, he comes across a lone man. It's none other than Sally's grandfather. He explains that in order to control the Fox, the visor equipped onto it by the Empire was stripping the Zoid of its free will. The Zoid had been going rogue because that's what both it and Baan had wanted. Baan questions this, but then realises the truth. He had been fighting for a promotion, not really out of loyalty or his own feelings. It wasn't his intention to treat the Fox as a disposable tool.
Elsewhere, Sally, Leo, Buzz and Jo lean incidentally of the invisible Zoid, but don't much heed to it. They instead find themselves targeted by Knox and his Knuckle Kongs, who were initially out looking for Baan.
Leo and Jo go to engage the two Kongs near them, but are taken by surprise when a third Kong ambushes Sally and Buzz's car.
They are in a bad situation, until Baan shows up and much to the surprise to the rest of the cast, defeats the Imperial forces.
Sally, Leo and the others flee as the Fox departs on its own.
