Roar in the sky! Liger Counterattack!! is the ninth episode of the Zoids: Wild ZERO anime series, based on TOMY's Zoids franchise. It first aired in Japan on December 06, 2019 on TV Tokyo.
Overview[]
The group are travelling based on an old map supplied to them, and they come across an aircraft carrier. Buzz wants to raid it for treasure, but Jo commandeers it for the Republic based on it being a military asset.
Leo notices that one of the electromagnetic catapults still works, even after 100 years.
Jo heads off to get a better signal so she can hail the Republic, while the others go exploring through the ship. As they explore Sally finds Jamminga even inside the vessel. However, after defeating the weak Zoids they also find working batteries and capacitors.
The Empire decide to launch an attack, responding to the flag that Jo planted for the Republic.
Two dimepulsar, two raptors and a scorpear are defeated by Leo fairly quickly.
However, above them the Sniptera looms and as usual proves effective against the Beast Liger. It's all Leo can do just to dodge, run and hide. He lacks a way to fight back.
But then he tells the others to jury-rig a solution: Get the catapult working and launch his Liger at the Sniptera.
Jo carves out a platform for the catapult while Sally sources the power supply, and Buzz connects them.
Leo waits out the Sniptera and fires the catapult with him and the Beast Liger on it. Using his Evo Blast he approaches the Zoid, but Chris Giller flies higher, leaving Leo too low.
But Leo had anticipated this, and uses explosives under the platform carrying his Liger to get an extra boost.
He manages to cut off one of the wings of the Sniptera, forcing it to limp to a retreat.

- A similar tactic was employed in Chaotic Century episode 45, where Van's Blade Liger is launched from an aircraft catapult to defeat flying Zoids.
